Why locals love it

Many people wonder why this tower stands alone. It’s all that remains of a church that was destroyed during the French Revolution. Luckily it managed to survive the troubled history of the French capital. In the 19th century it was used as a weather station.

Why you should visit it

This 500-year-old tower is surrounded by a lovely little park. Many locals come here to relax, to chat with friends, or for a break when having a crazy shopping day on rue de Rivoli. It was meticulously restored from 2003 to 2013 after suffering weather damage.

Special tip

From July 5th to September 15th 2013, it was possible to visit the tower. Hopefully the same initiative will be repeated sometime in the future.
