Tour by Eléonore
Local Ambassador

I'm a 36 Parisian girl born and raised in a village nearby Versailles.
I used to create and sell "love locks" on the famous lover's bridge "Pont des Arts" with my darling, Sed (we've been a faithful couple for 14 years).
This job revealed me a keen interest in working with foreign visitors.
When the government replaced the bridge's fences by windows I started to search for another job. I've been lucky enough to find a company's ad searching for a guide specialized in Catacombs. This is how I discovered this job.
Being impassioned by catacombs and underground heritage for 9 years, I am currently employed by several companies to lead guided tours of the Catacombs Museum. I also do day-tours of the Normandy D-Day beaches, the town of Chartres and its cathedral, walking tours of the cemetery of Père-Lachaise, themed-tours about the historical crimes and legends of Paris...

This is the dream job to me: I love meeting people from all around the world to share my passion with them.

I also love history, music, gigs, exhibitions, pubs, urban exploration...

Description

How did the bodies of more than six million people end up crammed into an underground maze of tunnels? You'll find out on this moving tour of the Catacombs.

Follow your guide into the bowels of the French capital, through a network of galleries, 20 metres below ground.

Hear about the history of the 300 kilometres of quarries situated under the streets of Paris - and how this area became the resting place for so many of the city's citizens.

Your guide will tell you fascinating, entertaining and emotional stories about the things that happened in the darkness of this giant labyrinth.

Due to the huge popularity of this tourist site, the usual wait time to enter the museum is around two hours (some have even waited 7 hours!) but this is a 'skip the line' tour which means you will be able to walk straight in with your guide.

Depending on the ticket availability it may not be possible for the guide to enter the catacombs, however in this case the tour can be organised differently. Please send your booking request for more info.

To request a different start time please include a request in the message field when making your booking.

Thoughtful and enjoyable tour
Eleanore was clearly an expert in her field,, extremely knowledgeable about both the Catacombs and Parisian history. We greatly enjoyed meeting her, learning the history of the Paris and the Catacombs and hearing about her own experiences in the Catacombs. Highly recommend

Great tour
Fantastic time
for Eléonore’s tour (Romantic Picnic for Lovers in Paris)
Leo and her team provided an excellent event.

They followed through on every detail, made suggestions for options that were creative and treated us like royalty.

I highly recommend them!!!!
Pere LaChaise Cemetery Was Remarkable!
for Eléonore’s tour (Guided Tour of Père Lachaise Cemetery)
Not only did we get of see a lot of this remarkable, gran old cemetery, we saw many graves of very famous people buried their such as Jim Morrison, Edith Piaff, Heloise and Abelard, Oscar, Widle, Chopin and others. Eleonore, our guide, was fantastic!! She was very knowledgeable of the cemetery - you sepnd hours wondeirng on your own without a guide and never see a famous tomb-- and knew a lot of histroy and had interestingg fact to present about the graves and the cemetery, in general.

This tour was one a the major highughts of a 12-day vacation to London and Paris for my niece and I. I recommend this tour very highly.
