This tour will introduce you to the history and culture of Le Marais.
On your walk you’ll stop at palaces, art galleries, trendy boutiques, bistros and elegant tearooms, but you’ll also learn that the district is full of contradictions. For example, the horrors of the Holocaust are showcased at the Shoah Memorial near one of Europe’s largest contemporary art collections at the Centre Pompidou.
You’ll also walk through the arcades of Place de Vosges and conclude your journey where the French Revolution began: the Bastille!
The following attractions will be included in your tour: Hôtel de Ville (outside only), the path of the Templars, the Centre Pompidou (outside only), the Anne-Frank Garden, the Shoah Memorial (outside only), the National Archives (outside only), the Carnavalet Museum (outside only), the Picasso Museum (outside only), the Jewish and gay quarters, Hôtel de Sully (outside only), Place de Vosges, Victor Hugo’s house (outside only), Jim Morrison’s house (outside only), the Beaumarchais statue and Bastille Square.
