This is where Pärnu's spa business started with the historical mud baths. The present neoclassical building was built in 1927 to replace the former wooden building which burned down. Mud baths are known to cure joint and nervous system problems, different infections and muscle pains.
Until recently it was just waiting for a new purpose and it was not possible to get any treatment there anymore. Recently a new boutique spa opened in the complex, but even if you're not looking to pamper yourself the building itself is still worth seeing because it is one of the symbols of Pärnu.
If it all sounds too muddy, the lovely flowerbeds in front of it, will make the things nicer.
