“Onion towers“

St. Catherine's Church

Why locals love it

This green-roofed church was built by the order of the Russian Empress Catherine II and is a great example of Baroque church architecture in Estonia. And if you look closer you can see that the the towers are not really onion-shaped as usually by the Russian orthodox churches - it is a bit older style!

Why you should visit it

It is so small and cosy that it is hard to find something comparable. The church is still used on every day basis so it is not some touristy historical building.
