Why locals love it

The Kokemäenjoki River is Finland's fourth largest watershed, and Tampere's Pyhäjärvi Lake is its central lake. The Kokemäenjoki River starts in Pirkanmaa from Vammala's Liekovesi and flows into the Bothnian Sea in Pori. The Kokemäenjoki River is 120 km long.

Why you should visit it

Kokemäenjoki offers unlimited opportunities for canoeing. For hikers and fitness paddlers, there are enough varied landscapes along the lake-like river route for hundreds of kilometers. Rafting is limited to swirling streams and levels. Paddlers have to ignore power plants in Vammala, Äetsä, Kokemäki and Harjavalta.
