The Merikarvia's Local History Museum is a former office building of the Kuvaskangas' Glass Factory. The museum has four themed exhibitions: a general store, a sawmill's room from the 1930s and 1940s, a description of livelihoods, and an exhibition about the life of elementary school teacher Ines Tommila (1875-1959).
F.W. Palander bought a farm called Mattila from Matti Näs and received permission to establish a glass factory in 1857. The factory was built in 1860. Palander established his own glass shop in the house of pharmacist Wahlroos in Pori. The factory went bankrupt in 1869. A. The factory was closed in 1884.
