Why locals love it
Though located directly in the Prague's city centre just off Václavské náměstí, this café stays in the shade of neighbouring (and much more famous) Lucerna café - and therefore it is extensively known only among locals. It offers relatively cheap prices and likeably long opening hours (ideal to stop by on your way home from a cinema or theatre).
Why you should visit it
This retro-styled café has a separated smoking and non-smoking part, and the menu is fully in English. Numerous varieties of hot chocolates (or iced coffees as a summer option) make it really hard to choose, so it's better to pop in more than just once! Kávovarna does not offer hot meals, but their choice of sandwiches and small snacks will do.
Special tip
Sadly, pickpockets used to be pretty common at this place a few years ago. Though the issue has improved a lot since then, better watch your handbag.
