Find yourself in an underground silver mine from the 16th century, which extends 250 metres deep and has 12 levels in total. Visit a former air-raid shelter and the basement of an old factory where many people hid from Allied bombs. On top of all this, experience a ride in our 4x4 vehicle and enjoy spectacular views of the Ore Mountains and its contrasting landscapes.
Our driver will pick you up at your hotel and take you to our meeting point: an old Marbach & Riecken factory. We’ll show you the basement, which was used intensively for the protection of workers, tenants and soldiers as well as women and children during the bombing raids of World War II.
In the 1950s, during the communist era, it was transformed into a civil defence shelter. Thanks to the original equipment and stories shared by our local guide, you’ll quickly get caught up in the World War II atmosphere and find yourself in the shoes of the people who used it for protection.
