At the beginning of the tour I’ll introduce you to the fascinating history of Wenceslas Square and the dramatic events that took place there in the 20th century. We’ll take a relaxing walk around the square, surrounded by pearls of such architectural styles as Neo-Renaissance, art nouveau and socialist realism.
Passing through a hidden baroque garden and a little-known passage, you’ll be amazed by some controversial modern art and unusual technical landmarks. We’ll see some fantastic examples of Czech cubism before moving on to the biggest square in the Czech Republic to admire the medieval New Town Hall with its terrifying history.
Finally, we’ll stroll to the banks of the Vltava river to see the fabulous Dancing House and chat about the brilliant ideas behind it.
The tour ends at Jiráskovo náměstí – just 3 minutes by foot from the Karlovo náměstí metro station (yellow line) and around 10 minutes from the Charles Bridge.
