Description

What could be better than running from one UNESCO site to another? Karlštejn Castle is one of the best and most visited medieval castles in Central Europe.

We’ll start in a suburban area of Prague and hit the trail that will lead us through the rural landscape of Central Bohemia. This means that you’ll not only get to enjoy Prague, but also the surrounding countryside.

We’ll run through forests, fields and picturesque villages, finally reaching the castle and the village below. Here, there’s the option to take a break and enjoy some famous Czech beer.

This running tour is a bit more difficult as it’s 17 kilometres long (it can be extended to 22 kilometres) with some hills, and we’ll be running on every surface you can imagine.

We’ll take a local train back to Prague (it's a 25-minute journey) for the ultimate Czech experience.

I rate it a 5 stars!
The weather was lovely, the scenery in the countryside was absolutely beautiful and a good change of pace from the city, and Martin and his dog Sandor were great guides and running partners! That being said, this tour is only for those who are quite fit and willing to run about 14 miles early in the morning. The quality of the run also depends much on the weather; I'd recommend doing it in ether spring or summer to get the best conditions. If they're up for the journey though, it's absolutely worth it! See attached picture from the run.
