Our WWII tour was awesome!! Our tour guide Jack was very knowledgeable about the events that took place during that time period and the atrocities that the Nazis did to the Czech people.

Jack also went over the events of being occupied by the Russians after the fall of Hitler. The things these people had to endure is just heart breaking.

He even took us off the beaten path for lunch and a pint and recommended a locals bar for us to check out that night after the tour.

Highly recommend this tour and hopefully you'll be lucky enough to have Jack showing you around!!

Together we’ll explore the most important sites connected with WWII and the communist regime in the country. First we’ll visit a memorial plaque on Národní St. dedicated to hundreds of student protesters who were brutally beaten by communist police.

After a short walk we’ll visit a museum founded in honour of the brave Czech paratroopers who successfully assassinated Reinhard Heydrich – “The Butcher of Prague”, but finally died in a battle against 700 Germans. The next stop is Wenceslas Square where many demonstrations against the communist totalitarian regime took place. You’ll be moved by stories of people who stood up against the oppression and were ready to put their lives at risk in the hope of possible change.

We’ll also take a look at the former Gestapo headquarters – the place that people feared most. Once you entered, you never returned. From there we’ll walk directly to the Old Town Square and the Jewish Quarter where several other WWII stories will be revealed. You’ll find out why Prague is still home to several Jewish sights even though it was occupied from the very beginning of the war.

So, are you ready to experience a completely different kind of tour?

Excellent tour
We really enjoyed our tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. He seemed to have an excellent grasp of the topic and told us a lot of things we would never have been able to find out on our own. Seeing the different sites where things actually took made the tour feel very authentic. This was the best tour we had in Praha.

Our guide didn't not try to rush the tour which was great. He was able to answer all of our questions.

One bit of feedback we would suggest is to describe what life was like under communism for the average person.

Overall it was a wonderful experience and we would definitely work with your company again.

Thank you.
Great Tour
We had a little trouble meeting up due to inadequate description on the voucher, but I was able to get in tough with the company and met out guide a few minutes late. And he was very gracious and personable. My wife and I basically had a private tour.

Jack was our guide- and I had seen other comments raving about him and agreed with these positive comments. He has a lot of knowledge though friends and personal experience of the history of the effects of the Nazi and later Communist takeovers. The most dramatic experience was certainly the Church where the insurgents were trapped after they killed a Nazi leader.

Overall. a great tour.
Informative and entertaining
Great History Tour!
Jack/Honza was our guide. He is extremely knowledgeable about communism and WWII and related events in the Czech Republic. The Butcher of Prague story was totally amazing and captivating as is his recount of the Velvet Revolution and the events occurring in Wenceslas Square. Alas, our feet were killing us from too much touring and Jack graciously sat at a coffee shop with us and finished his tour, as well as allowed us to ask our many questions. i highly recommend this tour!

Day Tour to Kutna Hora from Prague
Michal was outstanding. We were a group of 16. All were seniors but two. The train ride was comfortable and relaxed. Michal was very accommodating and professional in every discussions, from history to architectural design. The lunch was one of the best we had for value and taste throughout our entire trip. There was so much to see in Kutna Hora. It's highly recommended for anyone to include a day tour to Kutna Hora if one were to visit Prague.
Great tour
Michal from Explore Prague was our guide. It was a great tour with the right mix of historical facts and legends. We can only recommend it!! It's the best way to explore a city when you have only a few days.
Great Tour!
Mike was our tour guide and he gave us a great tour. We enjoyed seeing some things that we most certainly would have missed had we not taken this Hidden Gems of Prague tour.

Surprisingly, one of the things we’re still talking about is the never stopping elevator he showed us. We learned how the tram works and we saw churches that we wouldn’t have seen because of their being off the beaten path. It was a great tour for the four of us who took it!
