My name is Filip. Born in Prague, raised in Prague, living in this city for all my life. When I was a kid, my grandparents used to take me to tours to our castles and natural attractions. Now I give back and I show it all to visitors of my city and my country.
Even though I spent some time in abroad (Ireland, Australia), I would not change anything for a nice walk in Prague or for a nice trip to Cesky Krumlov, Karlstejn or to our mountains. It would be my greatest pleasure to take you with me.

Description

Kampa Island tour is 2 hours long guided tour to our beautiful Kampa. Island under the Charles Bridge.
Kampa was first mentioned in the 12th century as a place chosen by the Malta Knights Order for their Czech headquarters. Underground chambers of their buildings, that still stand today there, hide many fascinating secrets.

Czech and foreign nobles built their magnificent houses on Kampa and for many years this piece of land was connected with Mala Strana just by small portable bridges, making the place pretty isolated. It took hundreds of years before Kampa was finally accesible from Charles Bridge in 1785.

During communist era, so called Lennon Wall became a place for young rebels to write their messages of resistance against communism. When John Lennon died in 1980, the wall was dedicated to his memory by Czech independent youth, and messages of resistance were replaced by messages of Love. This wall is very popular with tourists now and we will visit it.

Kampa park, a beautiful public park of today, was a training ground for Hitlerjugend in the Second World War.

Let us guide you through this little but fascinating place that experienced so much in the last millennium.
