Why you should visit it

The Mercedarians arrived in 1534 and built a church that was destroyed and 1700 they could finally to construct this basilica that was set over the ruins of an Inca temple. The statue of Our Lady of the Mercy was carved over a Pre-Columbian idol. The interior is a blend of baroque and Moorish influences. Paintings by Victor Mideros from early 1900s
