Why you should visit it

With its 5897 meters, this is the highest active snow capped volcano in the world and the second in Ecuador after the Chimborazo. The landscape around is very similar to that of the moon. You can see wild horses introduced several years ago and also native animals such as wolves or white-tiled deer, as well as several Andean birds.

Special tip

You can hike around Limpiopungo lake or go until the refuge on the snow! Attention with the altitude!
