Besides being the oldest church in town since 1535, the current temple is a blend of architectural styles from Baroque, passing by Neo-Gothic and Neo-Classical. In the interior you can admire impressive mural paintings made by local 1800s artists in the arches and big paintings in the walls.
This is the only church of Quito with a "girolla"; Visit the Mausoleum of Sucre, the liberator of Ecuador and go on top the domes for a great view!
