Why locals love it

It is located in the current limit between the old-quarter and the new town. There are many offices and commerce around here, so that is the reason why is busy during the week. Every afternoon, its is possible to see old people playing traditional games or workers playing an after-office volleyball. There is a permanent artists' fair every weekend.

Why you should visit it

This is like a microcosmos of what Quito is, where you can see all the cultural diversity expressed every day. On weekends there is a permanent fair of painters, sculptors and different other artists. This is also like a botanical garden with several species of native trees. In colonial times the royal pastures were set up here!

Special tip

In the center of the park there a place for temporary art exhibits. Also check the monument dedicated to Gen. Eloy Alfaro and find-out his history.
