Why locals love it
The setting is simply breathtaking! This is a geo-botanical reserve since 1966 and one of the most popular spots for local people from Quito and very near from the Middle of the World. This is maybe the only crater with people living inside.

Why you should visit it
A huge valley formed after the last eruption around 2.200 years ago! There is a community of farmers living inside the crater which is dormant. At noon you can see how the clouds come up from the bottom of the cloud forest and cover all the setting. There is a viewpoint, a market and some trails for biking, hiking or horse riding!
Special tip
There is no fee, but you'll have to register at the entrance.
