Why locals love it
This was a movie theater built in 1950 in order to promote the Mexican films of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. It was totally abandoned in the 90s and in 2007 the Institute of Cultural Heritage decided to restore and recuperate as an space for music and theater in the South of Quito, next to the Train station of Chimbacalle.
Why you should visit it
This theater is managed by the Foundation Teatro Sucre. They have a very nice agenda every month that includes from concerts of Ecuadorian or World Music to different plays. This is a very nice place that was part of a restoration plan of the Chimbacalle neighborhood.
