Description

Quito is an undiscovered city for the eyes of locals and foreigners. We will start at the Central Market, a fascinating place plenty of fruits, plants and erotism where we'll discover all the universe of aphrodisiacs used since Pre-Columbian times. We'll taste a "powerful" fruit's juice. After this, we will discover 10 demons that have been present in the Ecuadorian history through the centuries. We will go to the San Agustin convent, for entering in the Colonial era and all the European and Catholic vision of sex and love. On the way we will pass through a place that has kept the memory of torture and murder for GLBTI people. Next stop is at the Cathedral and all the stories of some of the historical and political characters that have been buried there. Illegitimate children and treason are part of this adventure. Nudity and pornography are revealed in a 1914's mural painting and in the last porno movie theater preserved in town. Obsession, drugs and dead were the ingredients presented in the life of some 1920's poets and a song that was prohibited by the bishop of Quito in 1905. Then we will talk about prostitution and trans and the nudity in the art of Camilo egas.
