Why locals love it
Chuck's is one of Ashely Christiansen's restaurants, a local James Beard award winning chef that has opened a number of restaurants in downtown Raleigh. The menu is simple - focused on burgers and fries with a few other sandwiches - and reasonably priced $6.75 for a single patty and $9 for a double. The fries come with two unique dipping sauces.
Why you should visit it
Chuck's is the most affordable of Ashely's restaurants (Joule is on the cheaper side too). It's in the heart of downtown and close to many great bars. I recommend getting the garlic aioli sauce and maybe a boozy milkshake if you're looking to relax.
Special tip
The veggie burger is excellent. I am not a vegetarian by any means but this is one of my favorite things to eat downtown.
