The Bronze Age Mound Tomb Area of Sammallahdenmäki is the largest and most diverse cemetery area of Scandinavian bronze culture in the Gulf of Bothnia coastal area. The Sammallahdenmäki burial mounds represent the monumental construction of the period. The site was selected for the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1999.
