This house has a love/hate relationship with the locals. Construction started in the economic bloom, but ended during economic downfall of the country. Questions were if the construction would be finished at all. Now it's here and it's beautiful.
The architecture is marvelous, first of all. In the building are shops, such as the 12 Tónar record shop and Epal, where you can find Icelandic and Nordic designs. There are also coffeehouse and a restaurant.
Everyday at 15:30 there are guided tours, but they do cost around 1500 isk. But coming and gazing from outside and the inside is free of charge.
