This part of the Reykjavík art museum is mostly focused on paintings and sculptures by both locals and international artists. On a sunny day the yard is the main attraction for most people, though on the colder ones the works on the walls have most of the attentions.
It offers a permanent exhibition of key works by one of Iceland’s most beloved landscape painters, Jóhannes S. Kjarval. The museum has a decent cafeteria which offer mostly light courses and a coffee.
Kjarval is our "Picasso", saying that you dislike his work will leave a frowny face on the locals.
