I'm not so sure that your initial idea for the travel to Iceland included hanging out at the beach and swimming in the waters. It does sound crazy, right? In the most preferable circumstances the seawater in the lagoon is around 15°-19°C and the hot tubs are around 30°-39°C hot.

The area is lovely, the birdlife is fascinating and when the tides are right you can walk up to the lighthouse. Beware, if the tides are wrong you could get stuck there.

It's the heart of Icelandic music culture. The staff is knowledgable, which is a nice difference from the snotty teenagers who normally work in cinemas. They also show movies how they were intented - without any commercial breaks (which is a rarity in Iceland).

Visiting swimming pools in Iceland is almost mandatory. This one has a certain vibe that most other swimming pools lack - the Icelandic vibe, so to speak. It's cheap as well (550 isk), but do bring your bathing suits and a towel.

The place holds artifacts commemorating that summit of 1986. The house is believed to be haunted by the spirit of a young woman. The haunting was said to be so extreme that the english consulate, who once lived there, was forced to move away.
