  • Admire the spectacular Gullfoss waterfall
  • See the original Geysir and watch its neighbour blow steam high in the air

Description

Pick up is from 08:30–09:00, from accommodations in the Reykjavík area. We offer daily departures all year round.

We’ll encounter the birthplace of the Icelandic nation at Thingvellir, as well as the site of the first Viking parliament. Established in 930 AD, Althingi is the oldest still-existing parliament in the world. Thingvellir is also one of the spots where we can appreciate more clearly the forces shaping our planet. As the tectonic plates spread apart, a new crust is being created.

Gullfoss isn’t the largest waterfall in Iceland nor is it the tallest, but it is without a doubt one of the prettiest ones. That's saying a lot for a country with as many waterfalls as Iceland.

And Geysir's reputation precedes "him"; the gusher that gave name to the phenomenon doesn't need much of an introduction. His neighbour, Strokkur, will blow steam high in the air every 5–10 minutes for our delight.

We’ll also take a short break in the town of Hveragerdi to see a small exhibition about a 6.3–6.6-magnitude earthquake that took place there in 2008.

The waterfall at Faxi is included in the tour, too. It’s smaller than Gullfoss, but very beautiful in the morning light. We'll also try to stop to admire the famous Icelandic horses.

A must!
Were. only in Iceland for 2 days and we are so glad we did the golden circle day tour. Very informative, punctual pickup and have incredible photos of our whirlwind trip.
Great small group tour with Geoiceland
We did the Golden Corcle tour today with Baldwin. The pick up and drop off were efficient and smooth. Baldwin was an excellent tour guide giving us lots of interesting information and when and where stops would be . Thankyou to Baldwin. We got to Gulfoss before lots of big buses which was great . We really enjoyed the trip and would recommend it highly . Forget those big buses. It was worth Paying a bit more and getting the personal touch. The added bonus it doesn't take ages to get 19 people off a mini bus, so you don't waste time at the stops .
Terrific Tour and Great Guide!
My two sons and I took the Golden Circle tour with Sif, from Geoiceland Day Tours, and we were surprised and delighted by the experience. We were surprised by the fact we were given lots of time to tour a site on foot, not just from the window of a van. That really made the tour our own! Our experience of Iceland was therefore much more complete. We were delighted by our guide's (Sif's) passionate and compassionate manner telling us all about Iceland, its geography, its history, its people, and its beauty. We all could tell somehow that her talk along the way was far more than some rote speech. And she was funny, too! And the luxury of being picked up at our rented apartment... so nice and prompt! A great day's venture with a great group for touring.
Excellent Trip
I went on the Golden Circle tour and had a great time. Siggi our guide so informative and such a nice man. The stop off points were well spaced and we were given the perfect amount of time in each spot – we even had time to look at horses !! This was a great tour & good value – I would recommend his tour and company to any visitors to Iceland.
Amazing!
This day out was genuinely one of the best tours I have ever been on. Our guide Siggi expertly combined humour with being informative. The stops were just the right length to allow us to appreciate the amazing natural beauty of Iceland.
