I'm a visual artist, traveling back and forth, asking where the real 'home' is and so - discovering little secrets about each place. I've been guiding my couchsurfers in Reykjavik, Vilnius, With these free tours I have been spending so much of my time, that I forgot to pay my rent..So now trying something new! I am developing tour of choices which can be mixed together especially with a stop at a restaurant serving veg or vegan food, shopping shortly at a local old store or having the famous old-style ice-cream. #1 Icelandic ART scene: -Museums -Galleries -Street art and underground art scene #2 Suburbs with elf stories and how the areas changed. --Hafnarfjordur --Reykjavik --Kopavogur #3 Veg or Vegan tour -Top places to try veg versions of local dishes -History of Icelandic dishes and holidays #4 With YOUR car: Art and local spaces in -Hveragerdi (40km) - greenhouses, the mysterious Eden, botanic garden -Gardur (50km) - The windiest city: stone art garden, lighthouse, elf lady's house

Description

Hafnarfjordur is a lovely town built on lava fields. Most people pass it without thinking twice.

One of the main attractions is the Viking restaurant and hotel. However, this trip is designed for lovers of more modern wooden houses, and the relationship between the past and the present.

We’ll explore public spaces, cute gardens and the charming harbour. We can also visit the city museum if you wish (only open on weekends in winter).

Are you someone who can ask questions in a low voice and take pictures in silence to respect the locals? Do you realise how tall you actually are? Do you see beauty in simplicity? Then this is the tour for you.

While the Hafnarborg art museum isn’t free to visit, it’s a great place to end the tour.

The tour can start from Hamraborg, Kópavogur, Hlemmur, Reykjavík or Fjordur.
