Pick up is from 08:30–09:00, from accommodations in the Reykjavík area. We offer daily departures all year round.
Following the coastline, we'll take a detour to a beautiful black sand beach called Reynisfjara. There we can get close to basalt columns and enjoy the view of a group of sea stacks. Puffins also nest in this area during the summer.
Another sight on the south coast is the small town of Vik, where we'll stop for lunch. Depending on the weather, timing and number of people, we may instead have lunch by the black sand beach at Reynisfjara. The gastronomic selection beyond Reykjavík is one of a sparsely populated country, so don’t expect any fancy restaurants.
After admiring the breathtaking beauty of Reynisfjara’s coastal scenery, we’ll head towards the Sólheimajökull glacier. It’s one of the outlets of the Mýrdalsjökull ice cap. We’ll walk right up to the edge of the glacier and you’ll get to touch it. We may even find an ice cave.
In winter the weather may be extremely icy, windy and cold, so warm clothing is recommended.
