We had so much fun on the crawl. We met some new friends, who will be friends for life! We loved Hera! She was full of knowledge and became our friend very quickly!
My only suggestion would be to give a better description as to what is included. As in the VIP access and specific drinks. I might have preferred to pay for the other crawl that didn’t include drinks so I could pick my own. :)

Expensive (everything in Iceland is), but worth it!
A friend of mine and I went on both the beer tour and the food tour; both were excellent! The beer tour included 4 bars, 3 full-size glasses of beer, 8 tasting sized beers, and a shot of Brennivin. On top of that, we got an excellent history lesson on beer in Iceland. The nerd in me loved it! Our food tour was equally excellent. I think we had 6 different food stops and a lot of traditional food that I would never have found on my own. If you're concerned about the cost, just suck it up and book it, and be prepared for everything to be expensive in Iceland. Iceland is generally kind of like taking a vacation at a ballpark...a $3 beer in the US is $10 in Iceland.

Really good experience, everyone in the party enjoyed it very much! Excellent guide, Gudny, who was knowledgeable about Iceland, Reykjavík and Icelandic food, as well as really fun and easy to listen to. It was a nice way to learn about and get to try some authentic Icelandic food (without the weirdest parts...). Highly recommended!
wonderful guide Thor, personal experience and excellent food
A great introduction to Reykjavik!
Our guide, Alexandra, introduced us to a number of fabulous dishes. We started with a meat (lamb) soup, went on to a cheese shop for samples of cheese and meats (including horse and goose), continued to a cafe for a unique rye-bread ice cream (it sounds odd if you have American rye in mind, but this is a dark, somewhat sweet molasses-rich rye -- the ice cream was excellent!), and moved on from there to a seafood restaurant for a sampling of arctic char and fish mash (also unique and wonderful). These were followed by Icelandic yogurt outdoors by Reykjavik's "pond," a hot dog (mostly lamb) with all the fixings at the oldest hot dog stand in the city, and finally a wonderful pair of desserts -- a chocolate concoction in the shape of a rose, and an apple sorbet -- with coffee.

Alexandra was a wonderful guide. She answered all our questions about life in Reykjavik and Iceland, about local traditions, about must-see parts of the city, and of course about the food. By the time the tour was over, we felt as if we'd learned a lot and made a new friend.

We did this tour on our first day in Iceland. It was a great way to orient ourselves and get through our jet lag, as well as to find great places to eat! We actually returned to two of the tour spots later in our week; had we stayed longer, I'm sure we would have gone back to more. Thank you, Alexandra and Like a Local!
