Why locals love it

This mural was done by the renowned French street artist MTO in 2014 for Blank Canvas Festival which was organised when Riga was the European Capital of Culture. The piece is entitled “I don’t like brick walls so I'm just going to tag...”. Gaujas Street 5 is home of Latvian Artists’ Union gallery “Art” and you can find a lot of street art there.

Why you should visit it

Nearby you can also find a mural that is dedicated to Latvian BMX racer Māris Štrombergs, Olympic champion in BMX cycling. The mural was done by Dainis Rudens, Latvian stencil artist. It is located next to Jānis Roze Publishing House on 10 Atlasa Street.

Special tip

To find the MTO mural on Gaujas 5, you have to enter the yard from Abulas Street, then turn left and again left.
