Hey!
I'll visit Riga in July and have a question: what is the best way for making these two travels (Riga-Stockholm and Riga-Helsinki)? Better going by sea or by air?

Riga Stockholm - take a cruise with a ferry, and to Helsinki you can get, for example, by ferry from tallin. Bus Riga-Tallinn from 10 Eur, approx. 3h, and Tallinn-Helsinki by ferry, for example Viking line, from 18 Eur, takes 2 hours

Hey! :)

Thanks for the question... well I would prefer the plain, because its faster. :D but going by the sea would be cheaper and more action, I havent travel by the ship, but my friends always says that there are always lots of going on, so more fun, and if you have a company, then way more.

Going by sea is a some kind of entertainment - you can spend time in bars and restaurants, meet a lot of people, dance, see the night show etc. But you can go by air much faster and do all these things in Riga 🙂

Riga-Stockholm-it depends from your taste: by sea (a party), by air (more comfort; time-saving); Riga-Helsinki by land (rent a car..lot of nice places)

Hi, I would advise the way to Stockholm with a ferry. It leaves every day about 17.00 and arrives about 11.00. Cheapest bed in a 4-bed cabin is ~ 25 EUR one way. Should say, there are a lot of heavy drinking people on the ferry, especially on cheap level cabins and on disco, bars etc. If you will not be in, take sleep aid medicine with. www.tallink.lv
Another way is Riga-Tallinn with Luxexpress bus. It takes about 5 hours. Go out at ferry terminal Tallinn and take a place in any ferry to Helsinki. Price for bus varies and could be as cheap as 5 EUR one way. www.luxexpress.eu There are several buses and ferries a day,

Hi!
It probably depends on what do you have more, free time or money?
I would say that it is cheaper going by ferry to Sweden and buss to Tallin and then to Helsinki by ferry again. Ferry usualy takes some time, but it's gona bee July, so it should be nice trip if it's not too windy :)
And plane prices you hopefully know how to check out ;)

Both are much quicker by air, and generally inexpensive. The Riga-Stockholm ferry is supposed to be lovely, especially the islands on the Swedish side, but I've been told that it's best to ferry one way and fly the other. I dont think there's a ferry directly to Helsinki; you'd probably end up taking a bus to Tallinn first.
