Art Nouveau meets Soviet cuisine

Rasols

Why locals love it

Rasols is the name of popular potato salad from the Soviet times. But don't let this name mislead you. Although they serve Soviet style dishes (with a modern twist!), the interior of this cafe is everything but Soviet. It could be called the most eclectic interior among Riga cafes and perfectly fits the location - famous Art Nouveau district.

Why you should visit it

The cafe is owned by Liva Jaunozola who is famous for her Andele Mandele vintage fashion markets. She has hand-picked every single detail in the cafe interior and the result is a really tasteful mess, just as the name of cafe suggests ("rasols" is also used in everyday language to describe a total mix of everything).

Special tip

Try Rasols salad (potato, eggs, pickled cucumber) or traditional Siļķe kažokā / Herring in fur coat (herring, beet, eggs, potato) and chicory coffee.
