I took their first day trip to Riga and I'm so glad I chose that option instead of the normal 5 hour bus. The Estonian and Latvian countryside is so beautiful and I would have missed it all, since this trip follows an alternative road to Riga. Thank you so-so much Tallinn Traveller and Mart for the great day. Definitely recommended!

Description

Our entertaining Riga to Tallinn day trip takes you through the picturesque towns of Sigulda, Cēsis, Valga, and Viljandi in a small group of up to 8 people. We’ll show you places you’d never find on your own and help you discover two countries in one day.

You’ll learn about Latvian and Estonian history while exploring these small towns, as well as medieval castle ruins, quirky local sights, and beautiful countryside. First, we’ll stop in Sigulda to climb the only bobsleigh track in the Baltics for great views of the area. Next, we’ll visit the romantic Old Town of Cēsis and the beautiful castle ruins at the heart of it.

We’ll then stop at the Gauja National Park, where you can hike along the picturesque Sietiņiezis sandstone cliffs. Afterwards, we’ll learn about the history of Latvia and Estonia in Valga, a town on the Latvian-Estonian border. We’ll also stop for lunch at a local restaurant in Valga. Kindly let our guides know if you have any special dietary requirements that should be taken in account.

The location of the lunch is subject to availability, and the meal is not included in the price of the tour. Before we reach Tallinn, we’ll stop in Viljandi, one of the loveliest towns in Estonia, to roam its castle hills and discover how the crusader castle came to be ruined.

I’d rate the trip very highly.
Our guide Liine was fun, full of energy and extremely knowledgable as well as being a safe driver. The tour makes for a long day but it is very varied and well planned with plenty of stops. we had a couple of lovely walks as well as seeing some local towns and some offbeat attractions! I felt well looked after. Highly recommended as a way of travelling from Riga and Tallin.
Tour from †Riga‡ to Tallinn with Kris
I did a 12-hour tour from Riga to Tallinn with Kris. We stopped at several castle ruins and beautiful parks on our way. Besides that we went to an obscure little museum near the Latvian and Estonian border. All the places we've visited were very interesting, especially because Kris told us about the history and culture of the two countries, but also several contemporary topics (and music) were discussed. It was a very lovely and informative day with a small group (4 people). It was probably the best way to go from Riga to Tallinn.
