The Victory Park
Why locals love it
The large Soviet war monument in the center of the park is surrounded by lush open fields used for recreation. Not all locals love the giant Soviet monument in the center of the park although once a year Victory Day ceremony on the 9th May is held here.
Why you should visit it
The Victory park is located across the Daugava river, 10-15 minutes from the Old Town. Busy with skiers during the winter, it sees lots of roller skating and Nordic walking during the warm season.
