Britania, hundred meters from Saens Pena subway station has all the great things that you look for in a boteco: cold beer, a very well mooded owner, the loyal clients – usually elderly from the neighbourhood – and that kind of charm that only a tiny boteco has. And there’s more in it: seafood on Saturdays.
Besides good prices and nice service – mostly in charge of the owner himself –on Saturdays, there are fresh oysters and clams. Straight from the biggest seafood market in Rio – Mercado de São Pedro – raw, sea salted good sized oysters, are openned right there in the act by the owner. These’s the best possible order with a nasty cold beer.
Get there around 11am for the oysters. Just cash.
