Description

This small group waking tour will take you to see all the famous churches in Rio, as well as important monuments around the city.

We will begin in Praça Mauá where we will visit the Monastery of St. Benedict – one of the oldest monuments of the city, founded in 1590, where you'll see baroque ornaments covered in gold leaf. We will then go to the Church of the Candelaria, where you'll see magnificent artwork adorning the ceilings and walls.

In Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil - the city's most famous cultural center - you'll have a chance to explore inspiring exhibitions.

We'll then go to the Imperial Palace which was where Princess Isabel signed the law ending slavery in Brazil in 1988. Your guide will tell you other interesting stories about the events that occurred within the palace walls!

We will finish our tour in the beautiful Confeitaria Colombo – an old shop with huge crystal mirrors that's famous for its delicious pastries.
