Ginger offers something Rome has only begun to embrace in the last few years - a lighter alternative to Italian food. Delicious though the cuisine of my native land is, sometimes we go a bit heavy on the cream, the sausage, the carbs! Ginger has fresh food, fruit platters, and great soups, in a tucked-away area near Piazza di Spagna.

For when you're wandering around the historical center (centro storico) and want a snack (a smoothie prepared on the spot, a fruit platter) or a full-blown meal with healthy options (quinoa salad, anyone?). Ginger is walking distance from Piazza di Spagna but far enough removed from the hubbub that you can enjoy your location (and your treats).
Be warned, staff here tend to be a mite unfriendly - but on the lunch menu you will find a salmon/basmati rice dish that makes it all worth it!
