Macro Testaccio is located in the heart of Testaccio, one of the liveliest neighbourhoods for nightlife lovers. This might explain why it’s open from 4 pm until midnight. A branch of Macro, Rome’s Museum of Contemporary Art, it hosts modern art exhibitions, installations and a range of art-related events.

The peculiar thing about this place is its setting. Located in an old slaughterhouse, it’s an example of rejuvenated industrial architecture. In the external area you can even see the gates where the unlucky animals were once kept.
It’s one of the venues for the International Photography Festival of Rome (FotoGrafia) held in November.
