Why locals love it

For many Romans, Sunday mornings are all about Porta Portese market. With thousands of stalls selling almost every item imaginable, it presents shoppers with the challenge of finding what they’re looking for as well as finding the best prices. Although it was better in the past, it’s still an iconic place for locals.

Why you should visit it

Not only is it historically significant, it’s also the biggest flea market in Rome. Located in the old Trastevere district, it offers a wide selection of goods including second-hand clothing, antiques, brand name knockoffs, bric-a-brac, household products, vinyls and much more.

Special tip

Be aware of pickpockets and be prepared to bargain.

I´m a fan. Might be too crowded, I go there around 7.30am. There are good days and bad days (where all I find are crappy bargains) but it´s worth checking out. Go early!!!
