Hi Guys,
We are 38 yrs old couple which this time will be our 2nd visit in Rome.
Last time was 5 yrs ago with a small baby...

We would like a recommendation for a cool area to search our hotel/Air BnB.
It should be where there are many cool bars and restaurants to end the evening.
we would like a short walk to our bed

Last time we stayed near Piazza Navona and it was great!!
There were many small bars and restaurants in the small streets around the piazza.

---------- more info -----------
Although this will be our 2nd time, the first time was with our little child, so we saw all the basics in a glance.
So we will return to few of the must attractions.

Therefore, the hotel should be located near metro or really easy to get and out to and from the attractions
And also a place to go down the streets and end the night there

Many thanks

Hi Daniel,

I am sure many would agree that Trastevere would be a good fit. I recommend to stick to somewhere around Piazza de'Renzi or Via Dandolo to be in the buzz but not right in the middle of the madding crowd.
If you want to really be like a local, Pigneto is a recently gentrified area, not far from the university area of San Lorenzo but slightly out of the city center.

Have fun!!

Do the location you mentioned still relevant?

Many thanks again!!
Hi Daniel,

Pigneto is not far from San Giovanni. San Giovanni is one of the stops of Metro A (the one that crosses the whole of the city center). In San Giovanni you also have a couple of 24hrs taxi stations and from there to Pigneto is a 10 minutes car ride (with no traffic). Alternatively, once you get to San Giovanni, you can walk to "Tasso" Mtero C station, and then is one stop to Pigneto station.

I have had a look for you on Airbnb and found the below listings to be particularly good:

Here a link to give you a better feel of the area: http://www.romeing.it/pigneto-neighbourhood-rome/

Whilst Monti, Trastevere and the Navona area are certainly among the most picturesque, I will give a thought to Pigneto, to try an area that is perhaps closer to how locals actually live.

Your choice though!

Have fun,

Clem

Borgo Pio is a pedestrian area steps away from Saint Peter. It is full of bars and cafes and it is a bourg, a village, in the middle of Rome. You can go walking almost everywhere because it is flat, too. Many hotels and beb provide bikes.
San Lorenzo is the students district and there are a lot of no-tourisist but stylish cheap bars and restaurants.

I know the perfect place for you, you just have to digit Casawally on Booking. A couple owns these nice aparments, their prices are amazing, they are situated in the very center of Rome: Vicolo della Vaccarella (5 minutes walking distance from Piazza Navona and 4 minutes walking distance from the Pantheon). They are lovely, fully equipped and always VERY CLEAN.

Or Monti, like Valentina said, would actually be an extremely good option.

Monti area would be perfect for you. My suggestion is to book something in one of these streets: via del Boschetto, via Urbana, via Panisperna, via dei Serpenti. Closest metro is Cavour on the line B.

Cavour metro is inside this districts. And it's only 10 minutes by walking from Colosseo! During the night is a very cool area full of bars and restaurants!

Stay around Trastevere or Testaccio, there are many places to go out and also many things to see, especially if you have already covered the basics :)

If you'd like to b shown around by a local let me know.
