A pleasant surprise
Rome's Keyhole46
Why locals love it
This is one of those strange things that you have to do at least once. Even if you come back time and time again, it never ceases to impress. Set in the gate of the Knights of Malta headquarters you’ll find a keyhole offering a magnificent furtive peep of St. Peter’s Basilica.

Why you should visit it
It's a short but really enjoyable experience. Through this famous keyhole you can enjoy a stunning view of the Basilica with two rows of trees in the foreground providing a natural frame.
Special tip
It's the last thing you should do when you visit Aventine Hill – it’s the “cherry on top”!
