We heard about this tour while on an e bike tour in Prague earlier this year. That recommendation did not disappoint. Our tour guide, Alessandro, was extremely knowledgeable and explained the points of interest along our route. We had great weather and no problems operating the e bikes. The included tour of the San Callisto catacombs was excellent. We had a blast riding along the Appian Way and enjoyed our time by the aqueducts. The included lunch was also excellent.

Description

Pedal on the Ancient Appian Way, a 2300 year-old cobblestone Roman road while going past an ancient sepulchre, a Roman statue, the ruins of a circus and an imperial palace, the Christian catacombs and pagan mausoleums.

Join a guided tour in the underground maze of the St. Callixtus (or St. Sebastian) Catacombs.

Ride a long stretch the Ancient Appian Way, then head towards the ancient Roman Aqueducts rising over the fields on the horizon; As you ride, your guide will share interesting historical facts that will open your eyes to the Rome beyond the monuments.

Know before you go:
-You will cover an area of approximately 27 km (17 miles) of which 60% is off-road.
- The ride is intermediate, being 60 percent off-road (participants need to be able to cycle off-road). The tour is challenging with a child seat or child extension mounted on the bicycle.

Excellent Tour of the Appian Way, Aqueducts and Catacombs with Alessandro!

An interesting tour - exercise, history and lunch all included!
Paola was an excellent guide. Friendly, informative and professional. She made took good care of the group around the busy city streets. We chose normal bikes instead of the E-bikes which was great as the route was almost flat. They were clean and well maintained. Everyone at Top Bike made us feel welcome. Great to get out into the countryside. The visit to the catacombs and aqueducts was interesting and we had a hearty lunch included (with wine - this is Italy after all!) I would definitely recommend the tour.
