Fabio (the guide) was great! We had planned a very ambitious day, and Fabio carefully listed and allocated our time perfectly. Amazing knowledge of all that we saw, and added the perfect touch of personality and honesty….not to mention energy, as he literally was willing to go the extra mile in explaining the objects and buildings that he so clearly loves. The memories of the entire day remain strong, very much due to Fabio.

Description

Join me for a visit to the heart of Ancient Rome!

Here, temples, meeting places, and triumphal arches evoke images of senators, soldiers, matrons, and orators, accompanying us from one of the most exceptional buildings in the Eternal City, the Colosseum, to Palatine Hill.

You’ll learn about Ancient Rome’s rich history of gladiators, slaves, and ferocious animals, as well as cruelty, discipline, and clemency.

The tour begins on the site that over the centuries has become the symbol of the city, the Colosseum, built by the emperors of the Flavian dynasty.

We’ll then move on to the area that witnessed the birth and development of the Roman civilisation: the Roman Forum. It was the political, social, religious, and economic heart of the Roman Republic. Some of the most ancient places of worship can be found here, and visitors can still see the remains of venerable temples.

Finally, we’ll visit Palatine Hill, where all the kings and emperors lived.
