Description

If you are searching for a unique experience that combines Food, History and Secret Places in the oldest District of Rome, this is the experience for you.

Rione Monti is a quiet treasure, very close to the Colosseum and Forum, but complitly off the beaten paths.

In 90 minutes you will taste some of the most famous products of our culture, in hidden places where only Romans go, and where we are sure you'll go back many times during your stay.

Being all archeologists, for the first part of the experience we will take a "time machine" together, showing you around amazing little details around the area, secret passages and hidden ruins that talk about the daily life of 2000 years of history.

We are even a big foodies and In the second part of the experience, we will taste the best of Rome starting with a an amazing espresso in one of the last “Torrefazione” (coffee roastery) of the city.

We will then jump in the smallest local market of the city center, having a Rustico (Typical Italian savory pie)just out of the oven.

Out off the beaten paths, we will taste some amazing cheeses and salami from a tiny grocery of the area.

Our day will continue with a deep fried Suppli and a round crunchy Pizza: two of Rome's best street food products.

We will finish with a "Maritozzo" a sweet roman tradition, really hard to find in other places =)

Lovely, lovely, lovely!!!
So happy to have found this experience! The sweet treats were amazing, but the tour and all the insider information we got, was even better! This was the first thing we did while in Rome and I’m so glad, now we have a staring point and some great recommendations on things to try and places to go back and explore more. Having these guys as guides felt like we were meeting up with some old friends and catching up rather then being lead around by strangers. They are passionate and love what they are doing and it absolutely shows. We can’t wait to come back and do one of the other tours Roma Eat (check out their website) provides! Thank you so much!

Amazing food tour in Rome
It was a really great food tour with seven different stops carefully handpicked by the organizers. Our guide was energetic and full of knowledge not only about the food but also about Rome. We really enjoyed our time and the food that we tried. I would recommend this tour to everyone visiting Rome!
A Treasure!!
This was an AMAZING experience. The guide was so knowledgeable and a genuinely nice person! They take us to hand picked places mostly family run and have been around for almost 80-90 years and are authentic to what they are doing. We did a bit of cheese tasting, meat, Olive oil tasting (so good), local jams (got four flavours for myself and it was home made), bruschetta, pizza, lunch with some really nice red wine and gelato . Every single stop was totally worth it. If you are in Rome and if you are a foodie you HAVE to take this tour! Thank you for the incredible food journey!!
Don't lose it
I cannot describe in words how marvellous it was. I felt like a friend, not like a tourist. I'm a huge foodie and Selene took to such places I wouldn't be able to find myself. I enjoyed every moment. Selene as a leader was OMG. Such passion, such energy, such sincerity. I think I met the best guide ever. And that was Selene. Definitely will join you next time
Wonderful Team!!!
I would recommend RomaEat to anyone traveling to Rome- especially first timers! Our tour guide made my first visit to Rome a great experience. I felt it was more of an authentic local experience. We ate amazing foods and met wonderful people. Another plus - the groups are kept small. Making for an overall better experience. Thank you RomaEat for a wonderful time! I'm back in the states but dreaming of Roma!! :)
Incredible... A MUST!!!
This experience was incredible -- I just loved it! I'm back home and haven’t stopped raving about this experience yet. I visited Rome many times since and just started doing these experiences to try something new and this one was so worth it. We learned, ate and laughed so much, it was just the most perfect day. The hosts were extremely knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. I think this experience should be on every Rome visitor’s to do list. I highly recommend this and can’t wait to do it again!
