Naples & Pompeii day-trip from Rome

Visit the city of Naples and the amazing ruins of Pompeii on a full-day excursion from Rome by private bus. Learn fascinating facts about the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, see the historic heart of Naples and eat some delicious pizza!
Duration 14 hours
Private tour pricing from 125 EUR per person
Group tour available in English, Spanish
The tour started with picking us up at our hotel and bringing us to the tour group's buses. The guide was very knowledgeable and spoke in both English and Spanish. The views from Naples was amazing, as was the tour of the fort. Next stop was a delicious pizza lunch with salad and a drink - which was very tasty. Off we went to Pompeii, which was the highlight of the day. I do wish we had more time to explore Pompeii as there is so much to see. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and took great care to answer everyone's questions. Do wear comfortable walking shoes; and if you have any stability issues, please bring either a cane or walking stick. All-in-all it was well worth the money and time spent; and I highly recommend it.

Highlights

See the main square of Naples, Piazza del Plebiscito

Taste a real Neapolitan pizza

Learn the fascinating history of Pompeii

Description

We begin with a walk through the historic center of Naples to admire Piazza del Plebiscito, the Royal Palace, Piazza del Municipio, the Gallery of Umberto I and San Carlo Opera House.

We'll then stop for some lunch which will include traditional
Neapolitan pizza and other yummy local dishes (water and one soft drink included) before heading to Pompeii.

A knowledgeable local guide will then lead you through the famous UNESCO-listed excavations. This ancient Roman city was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, which buried and preserved it under a sea of volcanic ash for almost 1700 years, until 1748, when the site was discovered by chance during normal excavations. It's a truly fascinating place!

The tour will give you the opportunity to visit a coral and cameo factory, to admire items manufactured by a technique dating back to Ancient Greek times.

We will then take you back to Rome and drop you off in the city at a centrally located stop (three stops to choose from).

Naples and Pompeii Rewind, A Must Before You Die
I travel very often as an international scholar, graduate student and a global traveler. This is one of the best and most reasonable rate anyone can have for what it had to offer. I’ve been to Naples a couple of times but having Sylvia and Bruno handle your trip made it the best for us. I was able to see and understand the Pompeii Event, enjoyed the food, people and landmarks of Naples...with every detail going back several thousand years. I highly recommend this contractor to anyone and if you haven’t seen Naples, call them and enjoy this place before you go to your box! No offense to the “box” was trying to emphasize a point!
Efficient enjoyable coverage of a vast area
Ordering pick up and experience of the tour was very efficient. The only feedback I have is that I would like to have known the end of day drop off points so I could plan our evening return to our apartment but one of the stops being Termini station was helpful. Ivan was a steady and pleasant guide with good knowledge of the topics we were touring. Headsets were good and clear. Food was AMAZING at Carlos Pizza restaurant in Napoli. Very nicely done lunch for such a large group from many countries. Thank you!
