Riding a bike through the Eternal City as the sun set is one of my favorite memories of our time there. We started at the bike shop hopped on our bikes and took off! I will admit that it was a bit scary trying not to run into people in some of the busier areas. Our guide led us through the city, stopping to share information about the monuments. We learned so much. She made Rome come alive for us with her excitement for her hometown. We ended the night with a great pizza. I only wish our guide could have shared dinner with us! We also thought we'd be seeing the Coliseum as we ate, but it was not in view from inside the restaurant. We also ran into bad luck after dinner. The trains were already closed because of the late hour! We had to hire a car back to our hotel. Seeing Rome at night was exhilarating! There's just something about seeing it all lit up. Thank you Sarah for the great time! You are an awesome host!

Description

On this relaxing bike ride you will be amazed about the history and stories that the Caput Mundi has to offer. Admire and explore the magical hidden places of The Eternal City. On this leisurely ride you’ll pedal down the river bank to make sure that you catch a glimpse of Rome reflecting against the stillness of the Tiber. You'll move around like true Romans, leaving from the Colosseum, passing through the Imperial Fora, reaching the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. You’ll cross the Tiber on Sant’Angelo bridge, to see the Castle, St Peter’s Dome and the Vatican City when it's most enchanting: after dark. Of course you’ll also see where Romans go out to have a good time in the cooler evening air, like Navona Square, and you’ll soak up the atmosphere. Don’t worry, instead of overloading you with mind-numbing dates, we prefer sharing all the basic info, fun facts and insider stories with you.

The tour is suitable for beginners and advanced riders and even for people who haven't been on a bicycle for years. You will cycle mostly on safe lanes to avoid roads with heavy traffic whenever possible.
