The Kröpeliner Strasse is where the heart of Rostock pounds. There are lots of shops and cafés, and if there's something going on in Rostock, it's very likely to take place here. Apart from that, the street is just beautiful with its pretty Hanseatic buildings, and the impressive main building of Rostock University and the green in front of it.

Why you should visit it
Strolling down the 'Kröpi', as locals call it, is a must-do if you visit Rostock. Those who love shopping may spend several hours here (whether it be clothes or other stuff – check out Tiger or Depot!), and those who don't can just enjoy the city in one of the many cafés or on a bench in the University Green.
Special tip
In front of the University Green, there is the 'Fountain of the joy of life'. Young locals call it the 'Porn Fountain' though - check out why!
