Next to the small but nice playground, you find a book box inside an advertisisng pillar. The policy is: Take a book in exchange for another.

This used to be the city centre of Rostock in the past. Now, it's a quiet cobbled square surrounded by some cute residential brickstone houses and the Petrikirche. Hardly any tourists know that this beautiful place exists, even some locals have never been there.

The promenade next to the 'Strom' is one of the liveliest areas of Warnemünde. There are plenty of different shops, cafés, and restaurants - something for every taste. For a really local experience, have a fish roll from one of the cutters. But watch out for the gulls - they are sophisticated in stealing your fish from the roll!

The square where the old lighthouse stands, right next to the building that faces the sea and got the name 'Teepott' (teapot) for its unique shape is one of the main squares in Warnemünde. Taking some nice pictures here is a must-do. There are some nice shops and cafés around, too.

The beautiful stretched out sandy beach is what has made Warnemünde so famous and loved among tourists. You can have a swim or tan yourself in one of the typical 'strandkorbs'. If you walk further down, away from the busy area, you come across an FKK area (where people are completely naked), a dog beach, and a grill & fireplace beach.

The Petrikirche is the embodiment of a Northern German church: plain and modest from both inside and outside, the Gothic brickstone church from the 14th century is a good place to spend some moments in silence, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The church also hosts the Protestant student congregation of Rostock.
