The Südstadt Mensa is where most of the students eat have their lunch, just a few metres from the university library. It has won the award for the best university canteen in Germany several times - so often, in fact, that they got tired of it and stopped the competition. Expect a wide variety of really GOOD canteen food for a low budget.

If you are looking for a cheap place to fight your hunger, go here for lunch! Create your meal from a wide variety of offers from the regular, pasta, vital, special, salad, and dessert counters - you'll definitely find something here. There are always vegetarian, vegan, local, and organic options.
Special tip
The Mensa is closed from 8.8.-2.9.2016 & 23.12.16-1.1.17. You can check the daily menu online. There are more Mensa places, but this is the best one.
