Why locals love it
Lapland's Student Theatre was founded 1980 in Rovaniemi. After many years ”on the road” performances, the students finally got the brilliant theatre Wiljami that was an ex-cinematheatre. Wiljami has seats for audience of 200 and with great equipment for a theater.
Why you should visit it
As an amateur theatre, not seeking economical advantage, the theatre lives mostly from grants and voluntary work. All the income from the plays goes to next theater productions. Yearly production includes from 3 to 5 plays. Nowadays our theatre is also used as a Cinema for outside the mainstream movies. In a semester the Cinema has 6 to 8 viewings.
